Radiology and Ultrasound

Radiology and ultrasound are just as important in veterinary medicine as in human medicine. Both our surgeries have digital x-ray processing technology. Digital radiology allows more rapid diagnosis of disease, and also allows detection of subtle changes that previous technology made impossible.

How Ultrasound Works:

Ultrasound is a rapidly expanding discipline in veterinary science. It is particularly useful in assessing possible disease in internal organs such as the liver, kidneys, spleen and intestines. There are many disease processes in which the organs appear “normal” on x-rays, whereas ultrasound can detect changes associated with such diseases.

Ultrasound is also important in determining whether or not an animal is pregnant, and whether the fetuses are healthy.

All four of our practices (Tamborine Mountain, Yarrabilba, Canungra and Pimpama City) are equipped with facilities in-house pathology, digital x-rays and ultrasound.

If you have any questions about x-rays or ultrasound, or would like to book your pet in for an appointment please contact us.
