Dr Kate Heathwood BVSc
In her free time Kate enjoys camping, target shooting and spending time with her partner Justin and their menagerie of animals – 2 dogs, a cat, 2 birds and 3 fish!
Dr Kim Unwin BVSc
Kim enjoys both internal medicine and performing surgery, and has plans to pursue further medical accreditations throughout her career. While Kim loves all her patients she has a real soft spot for cats.
Kim is based at our Yarrabilba Hospital but also does regular days at Tamborine Mountain and Pimpama City when needed.
When not at work Kim can usually be found at her local CrossFit gym, getting coffee with friends or at home spoiling her two cats.

Sarah Brook VN
Sarah joined our Pimpama City clinic in 2020 having obtained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2018. Initially working as an Equine nurse she made the move to small animal practice and currently works as our senior receptionist helping out the nursing team when required. Sarah enjoys all aspects of her role, especially the puppy cuddles and supporting all of our amazing Pimpama Clients.
When she isn’t at work she can usually be found spending time with her family and her maniac naughty Golden Retriever Fisher.
Simone Heywood VN
Simone started her vet nursing journey in 2017 and qualified as a Certificate IV Vet Nurse in 2019. While working in a busy practice near Brisbane she gained experience in many aspects of nursing, particularly reproduction and also volunteered with an overseas veterinary spey and neuter project. Simone initially worked at our Tamborine Mountain clinic and has now joined the team at Pimpama City. She enjoys all aspects of her vet nursing role and has a keen interest in further studies into wildlife and emergency care.
At home Simone has numerous kids, 2 of the 2 legged variety and a menagerie of 4 legged ones including 3 dogs, a cat and 2 Guinea Pigs called Nugget & Blossom.
Kylie’s lifelong passion for animals saw her join the animal care profession in 2019 when she started work as a kennel attendant in a busy veterinary emergency clinic. Having gained a Certificate II in Animal Studies, Kylie then moved to a reception role. She joined our practice group in 2021 where she initially worked at the Tamborine Mountain clinic before being asked to join the team at Pimpama City.
Kylie is soon to commence study towards her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is excited to get involved behind the scenes in the hospital with patient care.
She has 2 dogs, both Border Collie x Husky, and spends her down time out on adventures with them.
